What is Google Adsense?

As always, let’s leave all defining part to Wikipedia. Here’s what wikipedia says about Google AdSense :

AdSense is an ad serving application run by Google Inc. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image, and video advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis. Google beta tested a cost-per-action service, but discontinued it in October 2008 in favor of a DoubleClick offering (also owned by Google). Wikipedia →

The above definition would read read :

AdSense is a contextual ad serving program – run and own by Google – which allows website publishers to earn money by placing ads from the Google Adwords network on their websites. Everytime each of these ads being clicked by visitors, a-share-of revenue Google made from charging the advertiser, is earned.

Pretty neat and simple.

You can do this by logging into your account inside which you will be able to choose the particular ad format and ad color that you want to place on your website. The code your selections will generate will appear like this:

google_ad_height = height of chosen ad format;
google_ad_format = "chosen ad format";
google_ad_type = "whether text only or text and image ad";
google_ad_channel ="the channel you have placed this ad in";

Choose the right ad format that fit into your website template. Upload / update your page to your server, and the AdSense ads will generated automatically.

4. Content Matching Technology

With Google’s Content Matching Technology, it enables each and every of your website to deliver ads which are relevant to the content of your page – where the ad code being placed on.

The time it took may vary but, eventually Google will start displaying ads that relevant to the content of your page, which thus relevant to what visitors read and think about at the same exact time. Which then would lead to be clicked on. This would be the coolest part of AdSense. Google itself says:

“Google AdSense™ automatically delivers text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site and your site content—ads so well-matched, in fact, that your readers will actually find them useful”
